Handsome Teak Mid Century Gordon Russell Desk

Sale price £0.00

This one is a super piece of Mid Century furniture in well-toned teak and it goes without saying, fab build and design quality, one of the best created of that era by Gordon Russell. A desk of sensible proportions.

Gordon Russell was one of Britain’s great furniture designers and the Gordon Russell Design Museum is worthy of a lengthy visit if you wish to know more about the company and how it shaped furniture post war in Great Britain.

As expected the choice of timber is first rate and build quality first class. A well toned desk with a run of 3 drawers with original well shaped solid brass handles in place. The solid top is well planed to its edges giving it some real mid century style, as do the angled tapered legs. As you would expect the desk looks good from all angles. Light marks to inside the drawers, very much as you would expect.

Workshop report – The desk survives in good order with sensible light day to day wear no repairs – the drawers are running as they should and the original period solid brass handles are all in situ. We have waxed the runners. The teak frame is of a good tone with a pleasing grain with the desk having enjoyed a sensible careful repolish ensuring it's ready to place. No nasty marks - a well presented desk.

A super piece of post war British furniture from one of the best in the business.
