Superb 1930s Oak Deco Modernist Desk

Very much in the manner of Heal’s and of super design, quality and condition. We sold a desk very similar with the Heal’s badge last year and would assume this one could be by Heal’s too.

It sits so well with an angle to the front of the top,  just perfect alongside the well shaped and framed drawers all with original lozenge shaped brass handles, well shaped bottom plinth which extends to the back, very convenient shelves to the sides and of course not forgetting the 2 door cupboard to the side. The whole piece is not only handsome but functional.

As mentioned, the condition is very good for its age - solid well chosen figured period oak all round and two working locks with keys. Altogether very likely the best we will sell this year. The desk has enjoyed a careful hand repolish to highlight the timber and we have ensured its clean and ready to enjoy, expect a few historic marks but nothing nasty.
