Super Art Deco Oak Table and 4 Dining Chairs
A lovely set purchased in Scotland in 1927 and one family owned until now. Both the table, which extends, and the 4 matching chairs are of a super design and great quality having enjoyed a careful repolish in our workshop which has really helped highlight the oak and form.
The extending table (by way of a little twist mechanism and two knobs) offers a well sized top which sits on a fabulously shaped reeded base which in turn sits on a handsome set of feet - all of pleasing shade and tone. The chairs mimic the reeded design to the hefty front legs and offer good comfort with ample seats and attractive curved bar back- all very much in the Art Deco style. The chair seats are currently covered in a chestnut coloured grained faux leather which is perfectly ok or you could consider reupholstery which we can offer for £230 plus VAT for the set and you would require 2 meters of fabric which we can assist in sourcing if you wish.
Condition is good - both table and chairs are weighty with historic wear and marks. As mentioned the set has been carefully repolished and then hand waxed in our workshop, so are ready to place.
A cracking and rare English Art Deco oak dining set late 1920s.
