Pair of Mid Century Tulip Shaped Granite Topped Side Tables

We have a well sized matching pair of mid century tulip shaped bases with marble tops which would work well as side tables. Both bases are stamped Arkana 22 denoting the maker and size underneath the bases and the black with blue mottled granite tops are a new addition and work well.

Arkana were iconic 1960s British mid-century modern pieces, most famously designed by Maurice Burke. They were often considered Britain’s answer to Eero Saarinen’s Tulip series, featuring minimalist, sculptural pedestal bases that eliminate leg clutter. 

The bases are in good order - no cracks or repairs and the tops survive in fine order with no chips or splits to the granite. The weighty granite tops sit on the bases without any concern.

A good minimalist pair of side tables.
