An English Oak Art Deco Modernist Desk C1930

A fabulous looking English oak modernist desk C1930 sitting in rather good condition. Without doubt it's very handsome if you like Art Deco and the quality is good on this one.

We have an octagonal shaped top in solid oak under which sits a middle drawer and two little cubby holes behind doors all with original long steel shaped handles. To either side of the shapely top we have a pair of storage holes which are accessed by flipping the oak tops. To finish we have a little flight of oak shelves to both sides. It's all beautifully designed and compact. We would say English no makers mark but perhaps Gillows.

The desk sits in good order with genuine light sensible day to day wear so expect a nicely aged piece with no nasty faults. Sits firm and strong with a good tone and grain to the oak.
