Mid Century S Range Teak Sideboard by John & Sylvia Reid
Teak sideboard designed by John and Sylvia Reid C1960. This iconic piece of British design features a beech lined interior, with nickel plated ‘L’ shaped recessed handles and ‘V’ shaped legs. Taking inspiration from the prevailing Scandinavian designers of the time, and drawing on their architectural background John and Sylvia Reid produced classics of the era, this being one of their most sought after pieces. Apart from the look, this one wins on scale - it's smaller than most and could be used in various locations.
Condition is good - with the maker's label on the inside of the cupboard door. All the nickel hardware is in place, the teak is of a pleasing clear tone having been carefully repolished in our workshop, the black strip in situ, drawers running as they should with the little adjustable shelf in the cupboard in place. We have sensible aging to the legs and a few nicks to the veneer here and there, but nothing nasty and our workshop has ensured the piece is ready for placing.
A rather wonderful piece from John and Sylvia Reid.
