Highly Attractive Oak Dressing Chest C1910 in the Liberty Manner
A fantastic and rarely seen oak Arts & Crafts/Art Nouveau dressing chest very much in the manner of Liberty. Of superb construction in solid English oak of lighter tone and grain to most.
With beautiful design features and very much of the period. The dressing mirror is fitted with an unusual stepped pagoda top. Its original bevelled plate sits well within the frame. The main body of the chest is of sarcophagus shape. There is an arrangement of 3 long graduated drawers to the base and 2 small drawers. All drawers have copper plated pressed handles with the smaller ones having the maker's design number. The chest sits on lovely well shaped legs. We have working locks and key which are always beneficial.
Condition is good - we have wear and marks but nothing new and nasty. We have ensured the chest is ready for placing.
A rare and rather attractive English piece C1910.
