Vintage Ernest Race Antelope Chair

The Antelope chair was designed by Ernest Race in 1951 for the ‘Festival of Britain’. Heralded as the ‘New Elizabethan’ spirit with a sculptural, playful form, the Antelope chair won a silver medal at the Tenth Trienalle furniture fair in Milan, making it an internationally recognised icon.

This is a good earlier one, surviving in a great unrestored condition. The chair is firm with the plywood seat with wear and the white metal frame again age worn. We have the Race label to the underside of the seat. 

The chair is ready to place after a check over in our workshop.
