Early Victorian Country House Dining Table Leaf Cupboard
If you had a bit of money and owned a country pile in the Victorian period, you required the use of a large table and when one was entertaining with extra guests the table was extended by means of additional leaves and the need for a rather good looking cupboard to store the extra table leaves in. And here we have one! Not many of these around and this one is in very original condition.
It’s a lovely worn mellow piece which sits on its original iron castors and could be used in various ways with its narrow side door – maybe for dog leads etc in the boot room. It’s pretty much untouched with its original paint with panels to both sides and brass knob for opening.
A wonderful piece of Country House household storage C1850.
