A Good Vintage 1930s Oak Twin Pedestal Desk
Having enjoyed an industrial past and living most of its life in a Staffordshire workshop, this desk was, until recently owned by a local engineer.
It’s a traditional combination of long middle centre drawer with two flights of three decent useful sized drawers either side.
The desk is a good tone, nice pattern to the top, neat and tidy with good historic knocks and bumps. We love the classic angled original handles to the drawers - which are working well, no key we’re afraid…There are the usual ink stains to the inside of some of the drawers but nothing fresh. We have cleaned the desk, waxed the drawer runners and given the frame a light wax over to give it a decent sheen. Its smells fine. This one is a one-piece desk.
A sensible size, good shape - not too big and not to small we reckon. Looking for a vintage desk with a bit of real history then it’s worth a serious look.
