Eye-catching 19th Century Library Armchair C1870
Sitting at a good height, this one is particularly eye catching with its gold faded velvet fabric, buttoned back, puffed and buttoned arms, pillow topped headrest and a pair of soft pom poms! We think it’s utterly charming and full of character.
The chair is sitting on a fine set of aged tarnished castors which all match. The front legs are well shaped, turned and about the right size for the rest of the chair. All legs are firm with no movement or repairs. The fabric is faded and marks however, it is perfectly usable with no smells or grime. As mentioned the frame is firm with no movement in the arms etc.
A rather good looking English armchair C1870 - fine to use as is or a very good base to consider for reupholstery.
