Wonderful Edwardian “Advance” Oak Letter Filing Cabinet with Six Drawers

Great to have a pleasing slice of quality and this late Edwardian “Advance” oak cabinet not only oozes quality but also possesses a real sense of style.
This cabinet has an awful lot going for it. The finish is of a superior standard, the size is perfect, the design is more stylish than most, the condition is very good, the colour and quality of the oak is wonderful and it’s not been toyed with.
The oak “Advance” letter filing cabinet was made by Harwood of Derby and consists of six drawers that drop and fold down each revealing its original interior where files/letters and paper would have been stored. Each drawer is fronted with its original well-made metal bronzed handle pulls showing the “Advance” name. The drawers are all held in place and locked by the rotation of a heavy turned handle which sits centrally above the drawers.
The overall condition of the cabinet is very good. The panelled sides and frame are very firm and the piece is well constructed and heavy for its size. There are two watermarks on the top and also a few stains inside the drawers however nothing that distracts from this very good looking Cabinet.
It’s ready to enjoy and could be used as a TV stand able to hold DVDs in the drawers or just a useful cabinet in your home office!
