1930s Vintage 12 Drawer British Twin Pedestal Desk –Yorkshire Workshop Find
Discovered in a North Yorkshire workshop this twin pedestal desk is a cracker, with lots of genuine wear and of course those great looking flights of 8 and 4 drawers either side of the ample leg space. If you are looking for something with bags of history then this is worthy of consideration. The drawers have the original wonderfully unpolished brass cup handles nicely bedded in with the green leather top worn where it should be. The plinth is also a nice touch.
The desk does have knocks and bumps all from historic use and purpose, we would assume that there was a rail to the top which has long disappeared leaving a few holes around the top edge – expect wear and tear. We have cleaned the drawers and lightly polished the desk to ensure its ready to place.
Another great looking British desk with just a hint of Art Deco and that great lived in look.
