Handsome Pair of Mid-19th Century English Country Elbow Chairs
A good-looking pair of mid-19th Century elbow chairs most probably country in origin and presented in an as found condition. These are particularly attractive and so good to have discovered a pair. They are in great historic order with the frames firm and tight, the seats have numerous layers of upholstery, we do not have the heart to pull off and to be honest they are clean and very usable if you prefer that lived in look.
The mahogany frame is a good decent tone and simple in form with slender turned front legs, modest sweeping arms and curved bar backs. They are comfortable to sit on with the seat firm, not bottom touch the floor! Expect historic wear and tear, otherwise in good order.
