So the weather’s hot and its BBQ time, the sausages are burning nicely, the rocket salad wilting in the heat and your drinks need to be kept cold… Some will use a bucket or bin full of ice, some a trendy cooler from the high street whilst the chosen few will prefer to use something a little more stylish. We are selling this superb Vintage Thumbs Up Drinks Cooler with integral bottle opener fixed to the front. We think it’s rather cool!
This one retains a wonderful look with marks and bruises pretty much to line with its use. These would have been used in the 50-60s to store small bottles of Pop, Thums up having been a fizzy citrus drink, in small shops or with street venders but is perfect for keeping the lager, children’s cans or Champagne chilled.
The cooler works by placing ice inside and then plonking bottles on top. Once you have finished with the cooler then you have a small drain on one side to let the water out. This one retains its original bottle opener at the front.
We just love its look and believe it would also work well in an apartment to keep books or CD’s in rather than as a drinks cooler.
The condition as mentioned is used – they are real items and thus show plenty of marks in line with age.
