Modest Sized Mid Century Oak Desk Labelled Lebus ER 1954
This single pedestal oak desk is looking great, presented in good vintage condition. Produced by Lebus this would have had a life in an office or commercial space - two of the drawers have hand written pencil notes “typist” scribbled underneath. Its size is a big plus if space is a little tight. Got to say that it’s a well-designed piece - a flight of drawers to the left, some usefully sectioned internally, all possessing solid oak fronts furnished with classic age tarnished handles leaving plenty of space and height to tuck a work chair into to the right. Nice bevelled edging to the top.
Workshop report - We have cleaned and vacuumed the inside of the drawers leaving a few historic ink stains. Drawer runners having been waxed and are running smoothly. We have lightly waxed the oak frame, drawer fronts and legs without over doing it. All handles are in place as is the metal pole foot rest. The black top has been given a wipe over and is rip free. No odours just a faint whiff of wax. Expect day to day wear, nice tarnishing to the fittings and the odd mark or two.
A good British desk, bang on condition wise!
