Vanson did not go crazy on pushing production numbers so this set of 6 dining chairs are a particularly exciting find - one with its delivery label attached. These guys furniture was sold via Heals and the like – a bit of info below may help.
Vanson British furniture was produced by W.G Evans and Sons. It was aimed at the high end of the market with a focus on expertly crafted modernist design. British designer Peter Hayward was head of design and ensured the company remained at the cutting edge of contemporary design throughout the mid-20th century. Vanson furniture is defined by contemporary design and high end craftsmanship.
The chairs are very pleasing on the eye – wonderful design, profile and form, couple this with quality build and these are pretty good. This set is not a design we have seen before from Vanson with the curved top rail being a particularly good feature.
Workshop report – The chair frames have been re-polished by us, all frames are firm with sensible day to day wear, no repairs or alterations. The black vinyl which has been cleaned is hole and tear free with one chair having a very light imprint about 5cms long to one side- not off putting and likely to ease with use. The seats are firm and the chairs smell fine - just a faint whiff of wax polish…
