Victorian Workshop Draw Bench in Unrestored Condition
A rare piece of British workshop history, presented in great unmessed with, original condition. We have of course added the booze but this could have many home and commercial uses and really is a one off.
A draw bench is a tool used to do cold work on a metal, such as changing the shape of the metal without applying heat and applying only pressure and was found in the workshop of Albion Street Works, a grade 2 listed factory, which produced gold watch casings.
Made of pine, oak and elm, the wear on the legs is just wonderful - the tarnished top possesses fabulous character and also the odd muted sparkle of gold from the wire having been pulled through at the workshop! The leather can be rolled in and out of place as you wish. It’s stable, with good historic repairs.
