British Vintage Industrial 8 Foot Slim Workshop Table
Found hiding in a Lancashire engineering factory, this table certainly is a cracker. Its wear is wonderful and it’s sat untouched for the last 40 years or so. Surviving from around the 1940s and with its JB Furniture stamp still in place, we love this table.
It’s a hardy looking table – the top is marked with years of engineering work, an assortment of colours from almost black to tan with a variety of scars and textures. The legs are again marked and nicely stained at the bottom being relatively narrow for an industrial work table.
Condition wise its surviving well. There is a historic workshop repair to one side that’s fine and strong, so no point is replacing or faffing around with it… The crack you see on the top is not deep and overall the top is strong and rigid. We have carefully cleaned the table and given it a light wax - overall it pretty much untouched.
Without doubt, a great find.
