Victorian Bamboo Chinoiserie Panelled Mirrored Cabinet C1890
This highly ornamental piece survives in original condition and is of a good quality with a number of panels displaying flowers and birds making it particularly attractive. We like the overall stature of the piece, the quality of the fitting and all those mirrors.
The bamboo is aging well with its three little cupboards possessing their original turned knobs. As mentioned the cabinet comes with its original numerous bevelled mirrors in place some a little foxed and a smaller diamond shaped one with a little crack to a side but not off putting. The actual piece is firm with no wobbles – well constructed and weighty. Both middle levels have wear as shown but we feel this only adds to the appearance- it would be easy to replace if you required. The panels with birds and flowers are aged and a little faded.
We have lightly cleaned the cabinet and ensured it ready to place.
