Mid Century Vintage 1960s Liden Single Pedestal Desk
A 1960s desk made by Liden a British Company. This desk was part of the Liden Whitewood Range, a range of plywood furniture that you could purchase and leave plain or paint if you wish. This one, survived the paint pot and is presented in the “raw” as they say.
Apparently, the strap line for ads was “The Liden Catalogue Whitewood Furniture for Colourful Homes”!
It possesses a modest form – a step away from the curvy 50s furniture and is presented in good vintage order with a small repair to the ply veneer at the bottom left – not particularly noticeable and not an eyesore. Its firm and has enjoyed an easy life with the odd mark to the top and an historic green ink stain in one of the drawers. All the drawers are running well and the legs are strong.
