HANDSOME ENGLISH 19TH CENTURY ROSEWOOD ARMCHAIR
Truly English in stature - upright, handsome and honest! This armchair / library chair from the mid-1800s is a fine fellow indeed.
The chair sits in good historic order and possesses a great profile. It’s of a good size with a pleasing tall back with the width of the seat making it most comfortable. The rich coloured good quality rosewood frame is well aged, nice knocks and taps with some good craftwork on the arms and legs – all supported by large brass castors. The chair is firm and has happily escaped been stripped back and restored! The pale sage green velvet fabric would have been a newer addition; however, it does not look out of place, nicely worn and is rip and hole free with all the buttons in situ.
An English armchair ready to sit on or worthy of being reupholstered.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 105cm x Width 61cm x Depth 81cm
Dimensions – Specifically the Seat: Height 39cm x Width 42cm x Depth 48cm
