A Most Handsome 19th Century English Open Armchair of Generous Proportions
Of particularly generous proportions this chair survives from the mid-19th Century and is ready for reupholstery - we would be happy to obtain a quote from our upholsterer if you wish and also advise on fabric.
It sits well, looks right and nudges itself towards a rural piece rather than being a “towny”, either way it’s rather well turned out with its large back bar rail and those pair of sweeping arms giving it some real poise.
Structurally its good – the frame is very firm with historic wear to the arms, legs and sides, no wobbles and the turned legs are siting firm also.
A fine looking English armchair from the 19th Century.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 103.5cm x Width 63cm x Depth 70cm
