Victorian Button Back Library Chair Unrestored Find
Presented in good unrestored condition this walnut framed Victorian library armchair sits well with its scroll back and surviving damask leaf patterned fabric. It would make a sound reupholstery project or is usable with the legs, arms and frame very firm and strong – no wobbles or movement.
As mentioned, the fabric is faded, discoloured and frayed in numerous places with wear to its edges including the arms and back. The original white pot castors and brass hardware are in place – one of the back ones is a little flat but not a big deal. The arms and legs are historically marked but no repairs. One of the buttons is missing on the rear of the seat which is a little lumpy but springs are okay.
A very attractive 19th century armchair.
