1930s Oak Swivel Office Desk Chair by Simpoles of Manchester
Great looking and made by Simpoles of Manchester! Still bearing the makers transfer to the bottom rear back of the chair.
Simpoles of Manchester was a specialist office furniture manufacturer and was established in the late 19th Century. They made useful pieces of antique furniture from desks to filing cupboards and were one of the leading office furniture manufacturers in the Art Deco period of the 1930s.
It cuts a dash with its deco influenced oak frame, nice straight angles to the legs, wonderful shape on the sides of the back and it goes without saying it’s a quality piece of kit. One previous Doctor owner, we would say it’s been lightly restored during its life – the oak frame is clean and glowing well and the seat and back are fresh with no holes, rips or tears. There is some play to the mechanism, but this is perfectly acceptable, been like it since new and will be found in office chairs of this type and era.
The chair sits on 4 castors which are spinning fine as is the swivel action on the chair. It will also adjust in height if you wish…
A super oak desk chair echoing its period of manufacture well and of course comfortable.
