Fine Looking English Ebonised Armchair Occasional Chair C1910
A particularly attractive and well-proportioned ebonised armchair, surviving from the early part of the 20th century in good order. We are enjoying the quality of this one and its fresh sharp look. The chair has enjoyed a good quality reupholster quite recently in a superior diamond jacquard woven silk fabric in old gold which contrasts very, very well with the ebonised frame. The ebonising is good quality and the shape and craft of the elegant frame is worth noting.
Workshop report: – The frame has been checked for any faults, no wobbles or repairs. The upholstery is very clean only a feint mark on the seat, no fading with no rips or tears and the seat firm with no sagging in the webbing. The frame has day to day wear and has been lightly waxed. The chair smells fine. No big faults – expect day to day wear marks and a light loss on some of the colour at the bottom of the front leg otherwise a cared for piece rather than a barn find.
A very attractive chair which will fit in wonderfully wherever you choose to place it. We have the matching sofa – similar condition and quality…
