1930s Vintage Hillcrest Oak Swivel Desk Office Chair
A fine-looking piece of kit, this 1930 desk chair, bearing the Hillcrest logo on the swivel mechanism, was found in a Lancashire workshop – desk to follow…
These are handsome beasts and are becoming a bit of classic. This one is presented in great original condition with its history proudly on display – nice marking on the oak base and arms. We have endeavoured to leave the chair in an un-messed with condition with only careful cleaning etc.
Workshop report:- The chair swivel mechanism has been cleaned and lubricated, the oak frame checked over for any loose joints, the castors brushed over, the original leather seat carefully lifted and new webbing added and the leather replaced using the original embossed studs and conditioned with a good quality leather conditioner, finally a light waxing to the frame to finish it off.
The chair is firm with no repairs or alterations. The swivel is spinning well and you can adjust the height if you wish.
We love these chairs and this one is a cracker looking good in oak.
