Early 20th Century Vintage Oak Shoe Cupboard With Shoe Shine
What a cracking piece of furniture! A 1920s shoe cupboard with a wonderful shoe shine segment sitting on one side. We just love the brass and iron wear sitting on the sole shape, the honest wear marks, the way the top levers over and the fact it sits on wheels.
It’s a fairly weighty piece, firm with lots of slatted shelf space for shoes and to the top under the right hand side top is a great little group of cubby holes and spaces for brushes, cloths and polish all sitting around a little brass round dish we assume holds a small pot of polish whilst polishing your shoes.
It’s presented in wonderfully historic condition – lots of polish marks and wear and tear to the levered top. The doors are working well with strong brass hinges. The oak carcass is again, in good aged condition. One of the rear Kenrick castors is a little stiff but hey not a deal breaker.
Just superb.
