English Vintage Oak Late 1930s Early 1940s Two Drawer Desk
Often called a “Teachers Desk” this one, one of two, have come from a local office having been used by clerks and the like.
The oak desk survives from around the late 1930s/early 1940s and is presented in good vintage order having been spared the whizz of the electric sander, or an effort to “shabby chic”! This one is of a medium coloured oak in tone with four simple slightly tapered legs at the corners with two long drawers with the original wooden handles in situ forming the storage.
Its firm in stature, no wobbles and smells fine – no repairs or splits to the frame – the top possesses historic marks, all adding some interest and invoking thoughts as to its past users. The drawers have a little ink staining inside like so many of the era but not a big deal.
A great looking oak desk, ready to go.
