1940s Vintage Oak Pedestal Work Office Desk in Good Historic Order

This one is presented in great historic order having been spared the sometimes “bull in a china shop” sanding down experiment, and most fortunately has survived any attempt at “Shabby Chic”!
Surviving from around the 1940s this English twin pedestal oak desk with its flight of three drawers to one side and filing drawer topped by a single drawer on the other side is displaying its past well. Its two sliding shelves above the drawers are also intact handy for placing a drink or two on whilst fiddling, sorry filling, the tax return…. The left one is a little stiff but works fine.
You are able to see its history – nice wear to the edges and neat oak handles, the tarnished steel top is a recent addition and will age and mark up nicely with use. The panelled frame is sitting firm on eight stout legs, all drawers are running fine with the great shaped handles all in place, with the desk having no repairs or wobbles. There is a small piece missing to the back left of the edge of the top but not a big deal and is historic rather than fresh so blends in well.
We have not done a lot to this one, just a dust and light wax –we think its condition is wonderful.
