A wonderfully aged desk from The Birmingham Chest Clinic, Great Charles St Queensway built in 1930 By John P Osborne & Son - not a bad looking building and still around today.
The desk made of oak, is presented in good historic order with general day to day wear and tear. The thick top sits on four deep drawers with the good looking original tarnished brass handles still in situ – so many times replaced for more modern ones. The slender slightly tapered legs are firm and the desk is panelled to the sides and rear, handy if you wish to place it in a room rather than against a wall. It benefits from having the two sliding shelves in place, one with an indent for pens, paper clips and the like. The desk is firm with no repairs or wobbles and smells fine - just an ink stain inside one of the drawers.
A good looking desk, in good historic order and not too large in size…
Dimensions – Overall: Height 78cm x Width 122 x Depth 78.5cm
