Vintage Black Leather Geiger Executive Chair

From around the early 80s and of superior quality, the executive chair from Geiger whose designers included the likes of Ward Bennett who worked with Geiger as well as Tiffany and Hermes. Geiger has worked alongside Herman Miller, so these guys are up with the best.
It’s the superiority of make, materials used and design that makes this chair something worth considering. When new, it would have been an expensive purchase and would have sat around a boardroom table or in an executive office. As mentioned you only have to look at it to understand where the money’s gone - leather covered arms, double stitching, integral seat cushion, curved front to the seat and a very good hide. Of a good size, swivel and at a fixed height.
Condition wise it is good – the supple black leather is maturing well on the back and seats with no repairs just a faint ripple to the seats and aging to the edges, arms and tops. This remaining chair does have a nibbling of the leather about 2cm long on the one of the arms and a very tiny hole in the seat which is at a lower corner and hardly noticeable and nothing to be worried about – maybe from a nervous morning in the boardroom! The alloy 5 star base is crack free and the castors are working as they should, one of the castors is odd.
