A particularly attractive and rather striking Edwardian sofa/settle/hall seat presented in original condition including the moquette fabric.
Have not seen one like this before and thankfully found in original condition. The frame with its three square panels is inlaid as are the slender legs. In contrast the round topped arms and thick green moquette fabric seat is slightly art deco.
Condition wise its pretty good. There are one or two chips to the veneer on the tapered legs, an historic split of around 8cm to the top of the frame which is stable. The fabric is lightly worn, no holes or tears with the seat soft with new webbing underneath and the springs retied. The frame is firm with no wobbles and its smells fine!
We think this one is an absolute star with real presence and just a hint of grandeur. Crying out for a hallway.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 98cm x Width 170cm x Depth 64cm
Dimensions – Specifically the Seat: Height 50cm x Depth 56cm
