A cracking double end vintage 1930s oak library table or desk presented in unmessed condition, very handy that it’s not too big, we have two on offer.
One is dated 1938 so we would assume the other would be of a similar age. These are weighty desks with long drawers at either end rather than on one side. As mentioned the condition is great, if you want unspoiled and authentic - they are pretty much as found apart from a light wax and dust over. The functional shaped frame, very much of the era, is strong with enough marks to display its history. The original bottle green coloured top is marked but with no rips or tears. The drawers have the brass cup handles stamped with GRV and the drawers are running fine - all ink stained on the interiors but not a big deal.
We are so pleased to have found this pair – of neat size with the history intact. We would hazard a guess that they have come from a library or maybe a college.
Price is for one delivered by private courier – please note the one that is now for sale has a dent in one of the brass handles but is working fine.
