Vintage 1940s Oak Twin Pedestal Desk with Side Cupboard For a Change

Having enjoyed an industrial past and living most of its life in a workshop, this desk was, until recently sat in an office.
It’s a traditional combination of long middle centre drawer with dividers for pencils and pens, a flight of three drawers to one side and a flight of two to the other, one being for files, folders and the odd bottle of whisky for the Friday afternoon tipple! The slide out writing / typewriter shelf topping the drawer is in place to the right (annoyingly sometimes lost). This one has a little something extra - a shelved cupboard to the side – we would say modified when new rather than a fresh addition as the drawers on the other side are super deep.
The top is original and bottle green in colour with marks but no tears or rips. Its sitting firm with no repairs on lightly tapered legs and the oak is of good colour with wear in the right places.
A sensible size, good shape - not too big and not to small we reckon… Looking for a vintage desk with a bit of real history then it’s worth a serious look.
