Surviving from the mid-19th century and presented in pretty much original condition, with just the right amount of wear making it a very attractive piece.
The mirror has lasted the last 170 years or so without the need of restoration, no one giving it a re-polish, not been damp stored and is free of major repairs. So good to see one that’s original and showing off its history proudly. The original mirror has some foxing but not too much and retains a gentle sparkle. The mahogany frame is firm, of good colour, no wobbles with slight age darkening to some of the edges, wear marks to the ornate legs, the odd historic nibble to the veneer, nothing to really worry about and some light scratch marks to the shaped base. The tarnished brass castors are in place and working fine. The mirror fits well into the frame and tightens by way of the right knob if required.
A graceful mirror which sings originality.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 155cm x Width 76.5cm x Depth 59cm
