This pair possibly made for a couple (slightly different seat sizes) have that look and feel that’s getting more and more difficult to discover. It could be the wonderfully worn frames with lots of little knocks, grazes and bumps or the worn Rexine seat with their rows of tarnished studs which we think are rather wonderful.
The look is good; curved reeded arms, rope mid rail, beehive arm supports and slender turned front legs. They have benefited from not being re-polished or stripped so there’s lots of interesting wear and tear. The wide darkened brown Rexine seats are again unmessed with and no holes or weak points. There is a good historic repair to one of the arms but not causing concern and one set of castors differs from another – again not a big deal. Both chairs are firm with no wobbles or shakes.
Looking for a pair of armchairs that have been allowed to mature and have that wonderful lived in look, then these must be worth a consideration…
Dimensions Chair – Overall: Height 75cm x Width 56 & 53cm x Depth 52cm
Dimensions Chair – Specifically the Seat: Height 41cm x Depth 44.5cm
