English Vintage 1940-50 Metal Factory Cabinet Super Patina and Look

A recent find from a local workshop – a great painted metal cabinet. This one is showing its legacy and heritage wonderfully well, with plenty of marks, loss of paint and around 65 years of workshop wear and tear and labelled “Compactum Tool Cabinet Made in England” on the inside of the door.
The cabinet is reassuringly heavy for its size - always pleasing. In our experience, we reckon it’s from around the 1950s. Fortunately it carries the battle scares of a working life with the look and feel just perfect in our eyes. We have cleaned away any factory grime and given it a coat of polish so it’s ready to go. We are liking the sliding door – a little firm at times but working along with the two pull out drawers – these can disappear! The black knob is a more recent replacement but its works well.
This one has a mass of uses, whether it be for commercial, restaurant, hallway, kitchen, bedroom or home office workspace use… the list is never ending.
