A Stylish British Vintage 1960s Mid Century Oak Desk

This one was constructed in 1961 probably by Remploy and is very much indicative of the era with two smooth hidden drawers, neat, lightly angled legs at the four corners and a coffee coloured top. These desks were purchased by local governments, councils, schools etc. mostly enjoying a commercial life rather than home.
It is presented in good vintage order with odd marks to the wood and to the top, however nothing too distressing. The construction is strong, firm, no wobbles with a stamp ENHAM JAN 1961 underneath the top. As mentioned, condition wise its pretty good, the odd day to day usage marks to the oak and an ink stain to the inside of the drawers, not seen unless you open the drawer. It also smells fine.
A good looking stylish desk which is easy on the eye, a decent investment and ready to use…
