With a hint of Aesthetic Movement about them, this pair of ebonised pedestals survive in very good historic condition. These sing quality – the ebonising is well applied, the shape is spot on and they are of a good height. So many times pedestals of this ilk are missing the base, broken, have a warped top, a little stumpy on height or are not the real McCoy.
As mentioned they are presented in good historic order – there is the odd mark or two to the bases and marks to the tops however the ebonising is of superior quality and the forms are sharp, well defined and well crafted. We would say they have that lived in look and have been well cared for during their lives.
