Of a good size and height, this mule chest survives from around the mid-19th Century with its original paint intact and sitting on bracket feet with moulding details making it a rather “classy fellow” compared to some…
The paint has survived surprisingly well – yes there is genuine wear to the top, the edges are scarred and paint chipped, however we think the condition is about right and very honest. The chest possesses its original hinges, the interior is very clean, dry and smells fine. One of the brackets is a historic replacement but it looks fine and blends in well. Its firm with no wobbles or shakes.
A well-proportioned handsome 19th Century pine mule chest ready to place.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 65cm x Width 96cm x Depth 55cm
