Sometimes these little oil paintings just catch the eye and need a further glance. We think this small oil is a well-executed painting with the faint signs of initials in the bottom corner.
The painting is well proportioned and the artist, in our view, possessed a good eye and accomplished hand. The trees and sky connect well and we love the small group of animals grazing in the distance close to the lake which itself is again of light hand.
The condition of the painting is fair and as found – maybe it would benefit from a light clean but we prefer the aged look. There is the odd nibble around the edges but no holes.
Very much ready to hang and enjoy, it would look prefect within a collection.
