Having enjoyed an industrial past and living most of its life in a Black Country steel engineering workshop, this desk was, until recently sat at by a local engineer.
It’s a traditional combination of long middle centre drawer, a flight of three drawers to one side and a flight of two to the other one being deep for files, folders and the odd bottle of whisky for the Friday afternoon tipple! The two sliding out writing / typewriter shelves topping the drawers are in place (annoyingly these are sometimes lost).
We would assume that sometime ago the top was refinished, but hey nothing wrong with that as the desk is a good colour, neat and tidy with historic knocks and bumps. The drawers are working well, no key we’re afraid – the odd stain to the inside but they smell fresh…
A sensible size, good shape - not too big and not to small we reckon. Looking for a vintage desk with a bit of real history then it’s worth a serious look.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 76.5cm x Width 136cm x Depth 75.5cm
