Presented in a very appealing aged condition, this blackened painted wrought iron and wood park bench sits firm with a likeable form.
By the feel, weight, craft and look we would say it hails from the late 1930s/early 1940s and as mentioned above, is presented in the condition which takes an age to reach and is very difficult to emulate. The dense black painted iron work is nice and crusty in places, is well executed and has a pleasing curl to the arms and legs, we would say craft made rather than mass production. The wood, again, is well aged with hints of silver and green popping through the blackened finish - there is a small loss of wood on the front slat, however it’s causing no concern and the whole piece is firm with no wobbles or sways.
Looking for a bench with some age, one full of character then this one is worthy of consideration and yes the child’s vintage Webb lawn mower is available – make a change from the PlayStation!
Dimensions – Overall: Height 81.5cm x Length 179cm (just short of 6 Ft) x Depth 75cm
Dimensions – Specifically the Seat: Height 40.5cm x Depth 36cm
