Radiating coolness this Edgwick, one of two, we found in a Midlands workshop built in 1929, so we would say there’s a fair chance that both these were one owner cabinets.
This one, be it a while ago enjoyed a coat of green paint and since then the cabinet has aged well with plenty of wear to the top of the door and edges. It’s of useable proportions for home, commercial or workshop and proudly displays the brass Edgwick plaque to the front door. The cabinets would have been used with Edgwick lathes for tooling etc. and usually once the lathes were sold or became redundant, the cabinets got relegated to storage units or, like the lathes, became redundant.
It’s a simple format – a raised edge to the top, large door to the front and various shelves and two drawers inside. The shape echoes its era perfectly around 1940-50 and we have to say it does look so cool… Condition wise its spot on - lots of wear without being knackered! We have ensured its factory grime free and have given the old chap a little waxing.
A super piece of vintage industrial furniture ready to come out of retirement.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 109.5cm x Width 59cm x Depth 63cm
Dimensions – Specifically the Work Top: Height 106cm
