A pleasing oil on canvas depiction of a young shepherdess with a ram on a leash and her donkey carrying a pair of creels full of wool. I would assume this is European and shows the young shepherdess walking from a hillside with her crock tossed above her shoulder dressed in a flowing skirt, red waistcoat and navy blue jacket.
The picture though painted rather primitively shows an interesting subject matter and is well composed with good colour and a pleasing vibrancy. The canvas is in good order with one small hole on the lower left of the picture and overall craquelure, otherwise ready to enjoy.
A good addition for a collection.
Dimensions – Height 35.5cm x Width 31cm
We include the cost of delivery in the purchase price within mainland UK. For smaller items we tend to use Royal Mail etc. Rest assured pieces are carefully wrapped, packed and correctly insured.
