Surviving from around the late 1920s early 1930s, these are a particularly attractive pair of armchairs presented in very much their original condition with the deep chestnut Rexine covering bearing up very well.
These certainly sing class and style – the slender, slightly flared arms and the subtle Grecian swirl oak surround to the bases are particularly attractive with the stud work finishing off the look, all perched on little iron castors.
Condition wise these are pretty good – no wobbles, no repairs to the heavy well-constructed frames, no studs missing and only one small nick to the front of one of the seat backs (about 2cm long) and a split (about 4cm long) to the bottom rear side of one - both no cause for alarm. We have ensured that the seat springs are in sound order and have renewed the hessian undersides to ensure they are fit and ready to place. Both chairs are comfortable and smell fresh.
Pairs of chairs are always popular and these, at around 90 years old, are spot on!
Dimensions – Overall: Height 81cm x Width 77cm x Depth 77cm
Dimensions – Specifically the Seat: Height 38cm x Depth 55cm
