Such a sweet little button back sofa or window seat which ever you prefer, surviving from the Victorian period with a hint of Atheistic Movement...
So easy to see this one perched at the end of a bed, in a hallway or forming part of a set in a lounge. It possesses a pleasing posture with the frame in its original condition – the odd mark and wearing of the ebonised finish with the wood peeping through on a few corners and edges – not a bad thing. The gilding is also worn in the right places, not having been “touched up”. The legs finished with pot castors are firm and all the decorative frame work is in place. The button back and seat in a light teal blue is a more recent addition and is in good order with the seat being firm and no buttons missing.
Such a charming sofa with a hint of elegance and genuine appeal. Ready to place or reupholster if you wish.
