1940s Vintage Oriental Painted Square Column Pedestal Stand

Simple in stance and painted with raised oriental figures, mostly females on a black background. Good to find a column / pedestal that’s modest in form and interesting in subject.
The designs in many parts are raised and ribbed, with numerous areas coloured, some fading and loss of colour to 3 sides – however it’s very much original rather than repainted or restored. The top is decorated with a fine line of gilding close to the edge. We have left it as is, rather than over doing the cleaning or restoration.
A rather attractive and uncommon piece.
