We would say from the Victorian Wolverhampton factory of Mr Perry who enjoyed manufacturing in Japanned iron with a little dose of artistic licence thrown in.
This one is a worthwhile size, plenty of space for chunks of coal or ready for the fire logs. It sits proudly upon four robust paw feet and is in good desirable historic condition with no holes, bumps or cracks, the pleasing aged black finish looking just about right for our liking.
We have lightly waxed the purdonium and it’s ready for some winter action! We will even throw in a pair of coal tongues for good measure.
